  • Henry LaFever, Chairman of the Board

  • Mark Waddington, Ph.D. Board Member

Dr. Waddington earned a Ph.D. degree in chemistry at Montana State University (Bozeman) in 1983. After doing postdoctoral studies in Indiana and Oregon (and after a  short stint teaching chemistry at a private college in Miami, Florida), he and his family moved back in 1988 to Montana to Billings, where he taught and conducted research at what is now Montana State University-Billings (MSU-B). During his time in Florida, he had the opportunity to learn about (and how to present) “Chemistry Magic” shows to the public and he brought this to Billings and then later presented (along with his students, including Henry LaFever) numerous such “Shows” in the Billings area. Such “Chemistry Magic” shows are still now presented by MSU-B personnel. Later, Dr. Waddington was employed at Energy Laboratories in Billings in the position of Senior Chemist until he retired in February 2018. Dr. Waddington has been a Board Member of BSSEE since its inception.
